  1. Enjoy a dazzling performance in leafy surroundings with the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre season each summer. Running from May to September, the season features an eclectic mix of performances, ranging from Shakespearean classics to family-friendly productions and innovative premieres. This year, audiences are in for a treat with a diverse programme including a major new production of Lerner and Loewe's classic musical Brigadoon, choreographed by Olivier Award winner Drew McOnie (Jesus Christ Superstar). It runs until 20 September. Families can also look forward to the return of the musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's The Enormous Crocodile, which was a hit last year. This mischievous musical features jungle creatures with plenty of tricks up their sleeves and will be showing from 15 August until 7 September.
  2. Rediscover classic plays alfresco at the Shakespeare's Globe, where beloved masterpieces and lesser-known works by the celebrated playwright are brought to life. This season showcases a wide range of plays, including Shakespeare's ultimate classic, Romeo and Juliet (25 April – 2 August), set in the Wild West; the wild and raucous comedy The Merry Wives of Windsor (4 July – 20 September); and the frivolous tragicomedy Twelfth Night, or What You Will (8 August – 25 October), which brings the madness of midsummer to the stage. Autumn sees the rarely performed satirical play Troilus and Cressida (26 September – 26 October). The winter season opens with a classic tale turned into a musical, Pinocchio (29 November – 4 January), showing that there's no season to enjoy some outdoor live theatre. The Globe is open all year round.
