About
This festive season, watch the classic tale of Pinocchio come to life in a brand-new musical set to dazzle audiences at the historic Shakespeare’s Globe.
A heartwarming story of self-discovery and adventure, Pinocchio is one of this Christmas's must-sees. With your favourite characters from the beloved tale brought back to life, it’s the perfect festive day out for families.
What is Pinocchio about?
Enter a world where possibilities are endless, as Geppetto – finding little joy in small-town life – longs for something new. Carving a wooden puppet that looks like a young boy, Geppetto and the newly named Pinocchio set off on a whirlwind adventure. They meet all sorts of curious characters and learn, along the way, how to love one another and shape their own little community.
At the heart of the Globe’s round open-air theatre, made of carved oak, discover the uplifting tale of Pinocchio and the lonely artisan who brought him to life. A winter tale full of warmth, where self-discovery, freedom and family take centre stage.
Why see Pinocchio at Shakespeare’s Globe?
Showing for the first time this winter, the musical makes its world premiere at Shakespeare’s Globe for a limited season only. Inspired by Carlo Collodi’s original children’s book, the story dives into what it means to be human and interact with one another, showcasing extraordinary characters that bring magic to the stage. Call on your inner child and dare to believe in the impossible, where curiosity and wonder collide.
This isn’t just another retelling of the classic Disney tale, it’s a fresh, imaginative take on Pinocchio, full of heart and invention. And where better to see it than in one of London’s most unique venues?

Do I need to book tickets in advance?
Pinocchio is set to captivate London theatregoers from 29 November to 4 January in a strictly limited season. To avoid missing out on the premiere of this brand new musical, it is recommended that you book your tickets in advance.

Will the show go ahead in bad weather?
In recent years, Shakespeare’s Globe has introduced a winter season of outdoor theatre, offering theatregoers a unique experience. Braving the weather is all part of the fun – and the show will go ahead come rain or snow this season.
Two thirds of the audience – those seated in the galleries – are under cover. However, if you are planning to book standing tickets, it’s a good idea to wrap up warm and bring a raincoat.
