Overlooking the leafy expanse of Hyde Park, this iconic London landmark began life as a Gentleman’s Club in 1889 before transforming into one of the city’s most prestigious hotels in 1908. The hotel has long been a favourite among royalty. The late Queen Elizabeth II is said to have learned to dance in the grand ballroom, while Winston Churchill called the hotel home during wartime.
