Trafalgar Tavern
About
Look out across the river Thames from your seat at the Trafalgar Tavern, a Greenwich-based pub steeped in maritime history.
Built in 1837, this Grade I-listed inn still has many original features including large Georgian windows giving uninterrupted views of the river.
Get a sense of Britain’s naval history from the paintings and objects that decorate the interior, which celebrate famous figures and landmark victories. Outside, a bronze statue of Lord Admiral Nelson watches over visitors.
The menu offers a selection of classic dishes, such as Greenwich whitebait, steak and kidney pie, and bangers (sausages) and mash. Sunday roasts include slow-cooked lamb shoulder and free-range chicken with pigs in blankets and stuffing.
Regular events hosted by the pub include comedy nights, a pub quiz and live music performances.
