What is ELF The Musical about?

ELF The Musical tells the heart-warming story of Buddy, who crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts as a baby and grows up with Santa’s little helpers. After multiple incidents at Santa’s toy factory due to his size and poor toy making skills, Buddy realizes that he doesn’t quite fit in. After he learns the truth, he meets a host of colourful characters and spreads holiday joy wherever he goes. 

The show features some memorable festive tunes such as “Sparklejollytwinklejingley” and “A Christmas Song". With its catchy tunes, charming characters, and heart-warming story, it's the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit and spread some joy and cheer. So, grab your Santa hat, bundle up in your warmest coat, and head to the Dominion Theatre to experience Elf the Musical for yourself.

2025 ELF The Musical London cast

The full cast of ELF the Musical has now been announced. The show will be led by an all-star cast, with Joel Montague (The Great Gatsby, Hamilton) playing Buddy, joined on stage by Carrie Hope Fletcher (Calamity Jane, Cinderella, Les Misérables) as Jovie and Aled Jones MBE as Walter Hobbs.

They are joined on stage by Rosanna Hyland (Back to the Future the Musical) who plays Emily Hobbs, Martyn Ellis (Wicked, The Lion King) playing Santa and Mr Greenway, Lucinda Lawrence (9 to 5, Hairspray) as Deb and Dermot Canavan (Hairspray, Fiddler on the Roof), playing the store manager.

ELF The Musical is set to captivate London theatregoers from 28 October to 3 January in a strictly limited season. To avoid missing out, it is recommended that you book your tickets in advance. 

How long is Elf The Musical?

ELF The Musical lasts for two hours and 25 minutes, including a 15-minute interval.

What time is the evening show?

Evening performances usually take place at 7pm, Mondays to Saturdays. 

On which days are there matinee performances?

ELF The Musical matinees are on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2pm– although times may vary. Make sure to check your ticket in advance.

ELF The Musical is playing at the Aldwych Theatre in Holborn, close to Covent Garden.

How to get there: 

• Underground -he nearest tube station is Covent Garden (Piccadilly line), Holborn (Central and Piccadilly lines) and Charing Cross (Bakerloo and Northern lines)
• Bus - You can catch the following buses which stop nearby: 1, 4, 11, 15, 68 and 98
• Biking - Hire a Santander Cycles bike and head to the Aldwych Theatre. Kingsway Southbound on the Strand is the nearest Santander Cycles dock.

Is Elf the Musical suitable for children?

ELF The Musical is a family-friendly musical recommended for children aged five years and older. Children under four years of age are not permitted into the theatre and Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
